Civils and Drainage Product Manager

Elliotts is a family-owned builders merchant that’s been helping the south build since 1842. We’re in the business of doing great work with great people. Become part of our incredible team!

This is how you’ll be spending your time

The role is based at Head Office within our Sales Hub Team

We already have solid foundations in the Civils market but there is more opportunity; we want to aggressively strengthen our position in the market over the coming years.

To make this happen you’ll need to strengthen relationships with suppliers, negotiate volume, ensure we have the right civils and drainage products in stock to meet customer demand, and price them commercially.

You’ll have an important role in our buying group too, representing Elliotts & our customer requirements in helping negotiate best group deal with our suppliers

Our sales team, and other colleagues around the business will call on you for your expertise to help them secure sales.

You’ll be looking for opportunities to grow the business, both in civils and associated products (such as drainage and lintels).

There’s a small team to lead that will require direction and further development.

This is what you’ll need to be successful…

A strong understanding of the Civils and Drainage market and how having the correct stock profile for both general builders & specialists would work for Elliotts

If you have experience working with a Civils Supplier or Merchant in a senior position, that would be an advantage

Sufficient confidence & experience to meet with Architects, Specifiers and Builders

Strong negotiation skills

Ability to recognise new and innovative products to bring to our portfolio

Commercial awareness is key; you’ll understand profit, margin etc.

A little bit more about us...

Elliotts is one of the oldest family businesses in the South and today it is run by Tom Elliott, the sixth generation of Elliotts to take the helm of the business.

Elliotts were established in 1842 at Millbank Wharf in Northam, Southampton. The site is still the company head office today with an additional 12 branches across Hampshire and Dorset. In addition, we have two specialist tool centres open to the trade and public in Portsmouth and Winchester, our own roofing company, Elliotts Premier Roofing, and four kitchen & bathroom showrooms, Elliotts Living Spaces. Over the last 176 years, the business has supplied materials to some of Hampshire’s most important developments and infrastructure projects
