So, about Adam, he joined us a Van Driver....and then maxed out on our Unlimited Training benefit!
We don't have any Van Driver vacancies at the moment though, so you'd have to start as the First Line Support Desk Technician.
There’s no time to have your head in the cloud here…we might be 178 years old, but our tech isn’t; in fact we love leveraging technology here at Elliotts so you’ll need to be passionate about I.T.
This is how you’ll be spending your time…(the techy bit)
First line end user support for all IT systems; general hardware and infrastructure, local and wide area networking, enterprise business applications (e.g. Intact IQ), web platforms, cloud/hosted systems, telecommunications systems, mobile devices, cyber security and lots more. There’s lots of opportunity to get involved in all sorts of projects; you’ll never be told “that’s not your job”.
This is what you’ll need to be successful …..(behaviours are more important to us than tech speak)..
• Good prioritisation and time management, so you can balance the competing challenges
• Able to build rapport with users, even when they’re frustrated (none of that PICNIC talk please)
• Some experience in a retail environment (even better if it's a builders merchant) would help, so you understand purchasing, selling, invoicing etc.
• Good communication and written skills to assist with documenting processes
This will help your application stand out in Adam’s memory….
• Experience / Competence with general desktop support (PC Hardware, Printers etc)
