There’s no time to have your head in the cloud…we might be 178 years old, but our tech isn’t; in fact we love leveraging technology here at Elliotts so you’ll need to be passionate about I.T.

This is how you’ll be spending your time….

The main focus will be on our ERP system (Intact IQ); maintenance, support & further enhancement.

You’ll be writing detailed descriptions of user needs, business processes, and steps required to develop or modify business processes and provide training.

Identify and lead the implementation of process improvements for new and existing services.

There’s lots of opportunity to get involved in all sorts of projects; you’ll never be told “that’s not your job”.

This is what you’ll need to be successful …(behaviours are more important to us than tech speak)

  • Good prioritisation and time management, so you can balance the competing challenges
  • Able to build rapport with users, even when they’re frustrated (none of that PICNIC talk please)
  • You’ll have sufficient knowledge to recognise issues that need escalating
  • A passion for learning.
  • We’re a small team, so you’ll need to be prepared to “muck-in” to the team effort.

The essential techy knowledge you’ll need…

  • T-SQL & MS products experience.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to create reports and systems which match different end user needs.
  • You’ll be working with End Users, IT Developers, Support functions and Management, so your communication skills will need to be versatile

 …and if you have these your application will stand out, but they aren’t essential

  • Experience / Understanding of how a merchant / retail environment works e.g. purchasing, selling, invoicing etc.
  • Experience with .NET
